The sum of my clinical team’s comprehensive studies “provides further evidence that gut-focused hypnotherapy is an effective intervention for clinically refractory IBS”. –PJ Whorwell

In the largest study (n=1,000) ever done in refractory IBS patients, the clinical team found that gut focused hypnotherapy resulted in:

76% of the enrolled adults showed significant clinical improvement in their IBS

Additional symptoms showed a significant reduction in severity including:

67% showed a greater than 30% improvement in PAIN (including intensity and duration)

Over a 50% decrease in ANXIETY

An approximate 50% decline in Clinical DEPRESSION

Satisfaction with the quality of life also showed a significant improvement

Outcome was independent of IBS type and subtype

An earlier study of gut-focused hypnotherapy resulted in:

88% of the children enrolled saw a clinically significant improvement in their IBS clinical severity

Considerable benefits were also found for the reduction in the persistence of many other unhealthy symptoms of IBS including:

Relevant facts

The prevalence (defined:  the proportion of a population who have a specific characteristic in a given time period) of IBS is 10 to 25% of the world’s population. It is 1.5 to 3.0 times more common in women than men.

Suffering from intractable irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) causes a huge decrease in quality of life (QOL). This is an enormous worldwide health cost that, in the main, impacts greatly on the lifestyle and behavior of those affected. IBS cost 1.6 billion dollars in the United States of America and is the most common gastrointestinal disease.

The main symptoms of IBS include, but are not limited to, constipation, diarrhea, gas with or without bloating, pain, inflammation, anxiety, depression, etc. Many other gastric diseases have overlapping symptoms and also benefit from gut-focused hypnotherapy. Up until the positive intervention of gut-focused hypnosis, there were few options for clinical management of refractory and drug-resistant IBS.

The symptoms of IBS range from mild to debilitating. This may cause increased daily anxiety which can then become disabling.

Behind IBS and Other Gastrointestinal Disorders

Hypnotherapy’s best medically documented outcomes occur in the devastating subtypes of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). In addition to IBS, there are many related forms of gastric distress that respond to hypnotic intervention including inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, functional dyspepsia, heartburn, etc. The most common symptoms are pain, bloating and intractable bowel movements.

A Surprising Bit of History

What is most surprising about the hypnotherapy result is that the patients studied were enrolled because they were resistant to other types of medical management. IBS involves a complex array of organs (endocrine, immune, autonomic, central- and enteric-nervous systems) as well as, the brain-gut-microbiome.

Perhaps more surprising is IBS is significantly associated with early in life adverse events including: 1) trauma, 2) emotional abuse, 3) physical violence, and 4) sexual exploitation. One explanation as to why hypnosis may work so well in IBS and its related diseases may be that hypnosis deals with complex and deep-rooted emotional and spiritual issues.

The pandemic exacerbates FEAR, PAIN, ISOLATION, and IMMUNE DYSREGULATION. Learning to resolve these interwoven consequences is paramount to success. Focusing on these complex emotional issues, HypnoBiosis™ provides novel cognitive behavioral hypnotic strategies. Our team is very serious about impacting these gastric diseases. During our sessions you will be given a novel step-by-step process (pandemic updated) to help you alleviate the root-cause of these common, gastric diseases.

The Importance of Restful Sleep

Restful sleep improves the vast majority of unhealthy situations. When you foster a better quality of sleep, it results in a more fulfilling and joyful life. Instead of waking up more tired than when you went to bed, you will wake up feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready to meet all challenges of the new day. Perhaps most significantly when you wake up feeling refreshed, the feeling is a positive step to reengineer, regenerate, and rebuild your life to its greatest potential.

Gut-focused hypnotherapy is a safe and effective method for treating even the most resistant forms of IBS. Is it time to step out of your discomfort zone?
